Class 1 - Celebrations: Special days

Topics: 

• Celebrations, holidays, festivals.
• Celebrations around the world.

Learning outcomes:

• Recognize and set apart the meaning of celebrations, holidays and festivals within different contexts.
• Describe the types of celebrations that exist in the different cultures.

Possible tasks:

• Choose a country and make a list of holidays. Count how many are due to religious, weather, political reasons. Compare with your classmates.
• Make a timeline of a festival in the world. Look for similar festivals in Colombia. Compare.
